Job Opportunities
Some of the jobs normally available at the Brookings Country Club are- Grounds Crew – Full time position runs from approximately April 1st to Oct. 31st. Students are only expected to work 5-10 hrs/week when school is in session. Full time work in the summertime, 6am-2pm M-F, plus you will be expected to work about 3 hours in the morning every other weekend. Some heavy lifting required. Waiters/Waitresses – Mostly part-time positions that run from April to October. Applicants should be 21 years of age, or older. Restaurant has reduced hours (mostly evening) in the spring and fall, but is open 11am – 10pm seven days a week in the summer. Must be able, and willing, to work weekends. BCC servers must be able to greet members/customers, take and serve orders, mix drinks, and bus tables all in a cheerful and timely manner. Cooks – These are mostly part-time positions that run from April to October. Restaurant has reduced hours (mostly evening) in the spring and fall, but is open 11am – 10pm seven days a week in the summer. Must be able, and willing, to work weekends. Once trained, BCC cooks should be able to cook the entire BCC menu in a skillful and timely manner. They should also be able to keep themselves occupied with any cleaning and prep that needs to be done during any slow times. Experience preferred but will train the right individual. Dishwashers - Part-time positions that run from April to October. Will usually work about 5-15 hours per week, mostly evenings. Must be able, and willing, to work evenings and weekends. Pro Shop Attendant - Part time position that runs from approximately April 1st to Oct. 31st, approximately 10-20 hours/week. Pro shop attendants are responsible for greeting customers, running the cash register, keeping the pro shop and locker rooms clean and orderly and picking the driving range. Must be able to be cheerful at all times and deal with any customer complaints. Pro Shop Manager – This is a full time position that runs from approximately April 1st to Oct. 31st. Hours are from approximately 8am-4pm M-F in the spring and fall and 7am-2pm in the summer. Full time students need not apply. Some weekend hours may be required. In addition to the duties of a pro shop attendant (see above), the pro shop manager will help with scheduling, tournaments and any office work required.
